Dr. Ryan Godfrey
PT, DPT
Owner/Physical Therapist
I grew up in Upstate NY and played multiple sports since the time I was 4 years old. By high school, I was a three-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, and 800m runner in track & field. I completed my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University at Buffalo in 2009. I am a licensed Physical Therapist specializing in functional rehab, manual therapy, Functional Dry Needling, and performance training. These specialties provide an excellent basis for assessing and treating movement dysfunction to improve pain, quality of life, and athletic performance.
Core Values:
- Community
- Teamwork: Hard work, Accountability, and Trust
- Game Changer: Intrinsic Motivation, Commitment to Excellence
As owner I guide daily operations for our team and delegate as needed. I track business financials and performance KPIs. I continue to specialize in rehab of runners and weightlifters, and have knowledge and experience in programming and coaching for youth, high school, and collegiate athletes. Some conditions I like to treat are knee pain for runners, low back pain & shoulder pain for weight lifters. Something patients have to deal with that I want to fix is a lack of clarity of their injury and guidance on how to fix it.
“The harder I work, the luckier I get.”
I enjoy working here because I like that we play the lead role in projecting our vision to be the Gold Standard in rehab and sports performance for our local community.
What is Dr. Ryan Watching, Reading or Listening to?

I enjoy spending time with my wife, boxer (Jackson), & Labradoodle (Oakley), traveling to the mountains to hike. I like to travel to Charlotte to visit family & friends. I enjoy run training for half marathons and weightlifting to stay strong and resilient for running. In the fall/winter I love to relax fireside while watching NFL Sunday.

Dr. Grant Bishop
PT, DPT, TPI Certified
Golf Department Director, Physical Therapist
I grew up in Raleigh, NC and began to have a passion to look into physical therapy as a profession while in high school. I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University. My credentials consist of Doctor of Physical Therapy; Titleist Performance Institute Certified Medical Professional; SFMA Certified; Functional Dry Needling Level 1 Certified; Golf Biomechanics Level-2 Certified from Dr. Kwon.
Core Values:
- Love for Christ; Integrity; Trust;
- Commitment; Excellence
At Change the Game Performance, I am a physical therapist and director of our Golf Department. I specialize in helping golfers, runners and weightlifters. Some conditions I like to treat are ortho injuries: running injuries, golf injuries, weightlifting injuries — you name it, all of these athletes experience many similar injuries BUT the key difference is accounting for what activity they engage in! I also enjoy treating vestibular and neurological conditions. Something patients deal with that I want to help with are aches and pains, tightness, not being able to get over a hurdle in their rehab process, and needing clarity on the direction and path to go to come back stronger.
“Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots – but you have to play the ball where it lies” – Bobby Jones
I like working here because I enjoy continually challenging the status quo to get golfers, runners, and active individuals moving well and performing at their highest potential — and that’s what we do here. We help our clients achieve what success is to them.

AmberLynn Pappas
MSc
Operations Manager/Strength & Endurance Coach
I am from Iowa originally and did my undergraduate work in Exercise Science at Iowa State University in 2004 before moving around to several different states while working in various parts of the fitness world. I completed my MSc in Exercise Science and Sport Administration from East Carolina in 2011. I have been involved in sports since my first track meet at 3 years old. As a long-time runner, swimmer, and triathlete, I know the value of strength training as both a component of competitive advantage and preventative care.
Core Values:
- Community: I volunteer for 3 different non-profits including Game Changers Foundation because I feel like it truly takes a village to make us all successful.
- Teamwork: I work hard and support my team (both our professional staff and our athletes) in their endeavors so that we all have forward progress.
- Game Changers: Always striving for excellence by learning and growing in the process.
- I also value honesty, integrity, balance, and have a strong motivation to help others.
I am a certified personal trainer through ACE (American Council on Exercise), I am still working on my 200hr RYT with NETA (National Exercise Trainers Association), and recently completed my Triathlon Coaching Certification with UESCA (United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy). I have over 20 years in the field and have worked with athletes of all age levels and in many different settings including competitive athletics, traditional fitness centers, rehab centers, women’s only facilities, and academic settings (teaching at several colleges and universities as well as being a lead role in campus recreation).

At Change the Game Performance, I manage the day-to-day operations/front desk, marketing/socials/events/community partnerships, coach our CTG Fit class, do one-on-one training, and do virtual endurance training. I also serve on our Game Changers Foundation. Something patients deal with that I want to help with is a lack of good information/ places that don’t take the time to get to know you.
I like working here because I enjoy seeing the athletes make progress, achieve their goals, and be a closer part of our community. I also really enjoy the team I work with and racing with them.
“You can quit if you want, and no one will care. But you will know the rest of your life.” – John Collins, Ironman Founder

Dr. Anna Blue Catlett
PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
I grew up in Berryville, Virginia—a small town where I first fell in love with sports, movement, and community. I started college on a full academic and athletic scholarship to play Division II basketball in Arkansas. I later transferred to Virginia Tech, where I continued playing club basketball and earned my degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. After that, I went on to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.
Core Values:
- Integrity, resilience, and community.
- I believe in doing the right thing, staying strong through challenges, and building meaningful connections that support growth.
I completed a sports physical therapy residency at the National Sports Medicine Institute (NSMI) in Lansdowne, VA, which gave me advanced training in sports rehab and return-to-sport care. I’m also certified in dry needling, which I use regularly to help with muscle recovery and pain management.
At Change the Game Performance, I’m a sports physical therapist with a passion for working with the athlete in everyone—whether you’re returning to high-level competition or just want to feel confident getting back to the activities you love.
I want to bridge the gap between rehab and full return to performance. Patients deserve more than just pain relief; they should leave stronger, more confident, and ready to move at their best. I also believe in a bigger focus on prevention and holistic care.
“How you do anything is how you do everything.” It’s a reminder to stay intentional—even with the small things.
I enjoy working with athletes of all levels. I have a special interest in post-operative knee rehab, especially ACL recovery.
I like working here because of the energy. The team brings such a positive vibe every day, and our patients reflect that. It’s an inspiring place to be.

Brian Grant
Coach
I grew up in Buffalo, New York, where I began playing hockey at age five. My athletic journey took me across the country as I competed in junior hockey from ages 16 to 20, eventually leading me back to New York to earn a degree in Exercise Science from SUNY Fredonia.
During my final semester, I began coaching at a sports performance facility in Buffalo, where I worked alongside experienced professionals and took the first steps in developing my own career as a performance coach. I quickly applied my academic background in strength and conditioning to help athletes across various sports and competitive levels improve physical capacity and translate training into on-field results through structured, sport-specific programs.
Core Values:
- Commitment: to be an individual that others can rely on. Improvement: to be a better version of myself today than I was yesterday.
- Gratitude: to be grateful for the life I have and the people I’m surrounded with.
Now a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), I specialize in strength training and biomechanics for both competitive athletes and active adults. My coaching philosophy is grounded in intentional program design, emphasizing detail and progression to produce measurable results. I take pride in helping individuals identify the strategies best suited to their goals and guiding them through a clear path toward progress.
I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Performance to further advance my expertise.
Many athletes and active individuals are unsure of what training strategies are best suited for their goals. I enjoy helping them achieve those goals with well thought out, intentional program design through a clear path of progression.
“The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding”
I specialize in strength / conditioning and biomechanics for enhancing sports performance in competitive athletes and active adults. My wide skill set allows me to confidently work with individuals of all sports and experience levels.
As part of the team at Change the Game PT and Performance, I’m proud to contribute to a mission-driven, collaborative environment focused on helping others feel and perform at their best.
